Opened in January 2026, Medusa Cucina Siciliana is the sister concept to SheWolf Pastificio & Bar, located just one block west in Midtown Detroit. Named after the iconic gorgon at the center of the Sicilian flag, Medusa is Chef and Co-Owner Anthony Lombardo’s culinary love letter to the Mediterranean’s most fertile island.

While SheWolf centers on the rich, wheat-focused traditions of Rome, Medusa shifts the focus toward the sun-drenched, seafood-forward, and spice-laden profiles of Sicily. Rather than typical southern Italian fare, the menu celebrates the island’s deep history and the distinct flavors left behind by centuries of Greek, Roman, Arab, and Norman influences.

The space opens into a bright, airy coastal dining room anchored by a signature center bar - a warm, welcoming layout that mirrors the spirit of SheWolf. Tucked just beyond the main room are Medusa’s private spaces: the moody Etna Room and the sultry, speakeasy-inspired San Vito Lounge, offering an intimate retreat wrapped in deep wood and velvet.

Whether you're stopping by the bar for house-made bucatini con le sarde, sharing traditional panelle with friends, enjoying a freshly filled cannolo straight from the iconic tableside cart, or sitting down for the five-course Tavola Trinacria tasting menu, the goal remains the same. Anthony loves people, he lives for cooking, and he strives to take good care of every guest who walks through the door. Chef wants everyone to eat well and feel right at home.
